What we collect, and why
Here’s what this website collects, where it goes and the choices you have. No legalese.

The short version
- We collect what you choose to give us, like your email for the newsletter or your org’s details for a table.
- Analytics and ad tools, including cookies, show us how the site is used and help us reach people with our event ads.
- We don’t sell your personal information.

Who we are
The Dallas Creatives Hangout is a free quarterly happy hour for Dallas creatives. It’s produced by Dallas Creative Engine (“we” and “us” on this page). This page covers this website.
What you give us
Newsletter signup
When you join the list, we send your email address to Beehiiv, the service that runs our newsletter, with a note that you signed up here. We use it to send Hangout news: dates, open tables, calls for entry and what our partner orgs are up to. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Bring your org form
The exhibitor interest form on Bring your org asks for:
- Your org: name, website, Instagram and Facebook (optional), what kind of org it is, community size (optional), which creatives it serves, a short description and how creatives take part
- You: your name, email and phone number (optional)
- The rest: your logo (optional), which Hangouts you’re interested in and any notes
Each form is saved as a row in a Google Sheet our team uses, your logo goes in a Google Drive folder and a copy is emailed to our inbox. We use it to check fit, plan tables and follow up with you. If your org is approved, its name and logo may go on our site.
We also add your email to our newsletter list on Beehiiv, tagged as an exhibitor, so calls for tables reach you first. You can unsubscribe anytime.
Emailing us
If you email us, we get your address and whatever you write, and we use them to reply.
RSVPs and tickets
Our free tickets are handled by Eventbrite. The checkout opens in a pop-up on our site (or on Eventbrite’s own page), but Eventbrite runs it, so Eventbrite’s privacy policy covers what you enter there. As the organizer, we get the name and email you register with.
Our ticket buttons load Eventbrite’s checkout code on our pages, and Eventbrite may set its own cookies.
Analytics and ads
We use a few tools to count visits, see what’s working and measure our ads. They use cookies or similar tech to note which pages you visit and what you click, plus your browser, device and rough location.
They also note four key actions: clicking a ticket button, finishing an RSVP, joining the newsletter and sending the Bring your org form.
- Google AnalyticsVisits, pages, clicks and the key actions above, so we can see what’s working. Sets cookies like
_ga. - Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)Page views and the same key actions. We use it to measure our Facebook and Instagram posts and ads, and to show our event ads to people who’ve visited this site. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account. Sets a cookie called
_fbp. - Microsoft ClarityHeatmaps and session replays: how the mouse moves, where people click and how far they scroll, plus the key actions above. It shows us what’s confusing so we can fix it. Clarity hides sensitive things you type into forms by default. Sets cookies like
_clckand_clsk. - Vercel Speed InsightsAnonymous measurements of how fast our pages load. No cookies.
Hosting and spam protection
The site runs on Vercel, which handles basic request data, like your IP address, to deliver pages and protect the site. Everything you send through this site travels over HTTPS.
Both forms are protected by Vercel BotID, an invisible check in your browser that helps tell people from bots. No puzzles to solve.
We don’t sell it
We don’t sell your personal information. It’s seen by the small team that runs the Hangout and handled by the services named on this page, each under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Cookies: block or delete them in your browser’s settings.
- Google Analytics: install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta ads: change your ad preferences on Facebook.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter.
This site doesn’t respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, so use the options above to opt out.
